Man’s True Place
“O Lord, how many and varied are Your works!
In wisdom have You made them all;
the earth is full of Your riches and Your creatures…
…These all wait and are dependent upon You,
that You may give them their food in due season.
When You give it to them, they gather it up;
You open Your hand, and they are filled with good things.”
Psalm 104:24, 27-28 Amplified Bible
Most of mankind, has a rather high opinion of itself
and its accomplishments.
This Psalm puts these views in their place.
It sums up the whole relationship of all of creation
to its Creator,
and points to our universal dependence upon God
in maintaining our position in one phrase:
“These all wait and are dependent upon You”
The whole of the universe is ruled by one unalterable Law…
all comes from God, and all will be summed up in Christ Jesus!
