Part 1 Do Not Judge

“There is no place for judgment in this life. We are living in a season between Calvary, which was judgment on Christ for all the sins of mankind… we are living between that day of judgment on Calvary, and The Day of Judgment, when God wraps up everything on the earth and everyone will be judged. Between those two times of judgment, we are living a prophetic season of grace.
Let me ask you a question… ‘Was Jesus judged enough for sin?’ If he wasn’t then there isn’t a person in this room who is saved, right?. ‘Was Jesus punished 100% for sin?’ Some of you are convinced, others are saying ‘I’ll just hedge my bets and wait, it might just be a trick question.’ But it’s not. Third question, ‘Did the Father pour our every last ounce of wrath and anger and indignation upon Jesus?’ So, He hasn’t got any left then.”

Part 1 Do Not Judge

“It is impossible to enter into communion with God when you are in a critical temper; it… leaves you with the flattering unction that you are a superior person.”
Oswald Chambers

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye,
but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?”
Matthew 7:1-3 NASB

The prime Greek word for judge is krino (kree'-no) which means to determine, to decide mentally or judicially, to form an opinion, to try, to condemn, to punish.

By judging others we indicate that we are
putting ourselves in the place of God.
The Lord alone has the right to judge.

"Do not speak against one another, brethren
He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother,
speaks against the law and judges the law;
but if you judge the law,
you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge,
the One who is able to save and to destroy;
but who are you who judge your neighbor?”
James 4:11-12 NASB

When we make judgments about people, it is most often done based on a partial understanding of the situation. Our own presuppositions and perceptions have a way of coloring our evaluation of the situation. We have a very limited view of the other’s viewpoint and the circumstances and life events which caused the person to act in a certain manner or declare certain things. The Lord Himself warned us not to make judgments based on appearances.

“Do not judge according to appearance,
but judge with righteous judgment."
John 7:24 NASB

If we make such judgments based on partial information the Word says that we act foolishly and shamefully.
“He who gives an answer before he hears,
It is folly and shame to him.”
Proverbs 18:13 NASB
The very purpose of the Law is to identify the facts and make us aware that we need divine assistance in coming to the truth… “righteous judgment" comes from the Lord.
When we see a brother or sister and believe they are in sin, our position should become one of intercession and seeking the Lord on their behalf, so that they may be restored in the mercy of God.
Sharing the “news” with others, under the cover of needing to pray for them is simply gossip and slander. We have been given the ministry of reconciliation not the ministry of criticism.

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”
2 Corinthians 5:18 NASB

Criticism and mockery, are a part of the language of Hell.
We have been called to love and edify one another,
with the goal of restoration in mind.

“Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass,
you who are spiritual,
restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness;
each one looking to yourself,
so that you too will not be tempted.”
Galatians 6:1 NASB
