Firstborn Son

When you come to knowing God, the initiative lies on His side.
If He does not show Himself, nothing you can do will enable you to find Him.
And, in fact, He shows much more of Himself to some people than to others
not because He has favourites,
but because it is impossible for Him to show Himself
to a man whose whole mind and character are in the wrong condition.
Just as sunlight, though it has no favourites,
cannot be reflected in a dusty mirror as clearly as in a clean one."
C.S. Lewis

Firstborn Son

God plainly shows it is His purpose
to increase His divine Family
by bringing many sons into it.

Jesus Christ is actually the "firstborn"
of many sons of God

29For those whom He foreknew,
He also predestined to become
conformed to the image of His Son,
so that He would be
the firstborn among many brethren;
Romans 8:29 NASB;

18He is also head of the body, the church;
and He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead,
so that He Himself will come
to have first place in everything.
Colossians 1:18 NASB

The Gospel Jesus brought to us
is simply the "good news" of the Kingdom of God
—and that Kingdom has duality:
It is not only the ruling government
which Christ will establish on the earth when He returns,
but it is also the Family of God—
the God Kingdom composed of
the spiritual members of the God Family.

And, incredible as it may sound,
Jesus taught that we can be "born" into
the Family, or Kingdom, of God.

This birthing required great suffering
and a single mindedness
that the will of the Father might be accomplished.

10For it was fitting for Him,
for whom are all things,
and through whom are all things,
in bringing many sons to glory,
to perfect the author of their salvation
through sufferings.
Hebrews 2:10 NASB

In the same manner we as sons and daughters
are called to endure suffering
for the sake of the kingdom.
7"He who overcomes will inherit these things,
and I will be his God and he will be My son.
Rev 21:7
