Sonship

“As Christians our standard of living
can never be “right or wrong”,
but the Cross.
The principle of the Cross
is our principle of conduct.”
Watchman Nee To-sheng: (Sit, Walk, Stand)

Sonship:

“For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war according to flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare
are not carnal
but mighty in God
for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguements
and every high thing
that exalts itself against
the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought
into captivity
to the obedience of Christ.”
(II Corinthians 10:3-5 NKJV; my emphasis: bold)

Here lies the simple answer,
the principle to living a victorious
life in Christ....conformity to Christ....
that we might today live as the image of Christ.
A lofty goal?
No, a command of God!

We must come to the Cross of Christ,

24Then Jesus said to His disciples,
"If anyone wishes to come after Me,
he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Matthew 16:24NASB

to live the victorious life of Christ

20"I have been crucified with Christ;
and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Galatians 2:20NASB

so that others will come to Christ.

8but you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you shall be My witnesses
both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,
and even to the remotest part of the earth."
Acts 1:8NASB

The world around us is crying for their rights,
and the subtle message can easily permeates our thinking.

So the need to renew our thinking
in the mind of Christ each day.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10 NASB

16 Therefore we do not lose heart,
but though our outer man is decaying,
yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.
II Corinthians 4:16 NASB

23and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God

has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Ephesians 4:23-24 NASB

We have nothing to demand, nor any rights to stand for,
but only to give in grace that which we have received in grace.

When our Master died on the Cross,
He didn’t do so to secure our “rights”
He did so that we might be changed by His grace.

“That you may be sons of your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:45NASB

The question is not rights...
the question is son-ship,
demonstrated to a lost and dying world around us.

Living with you, in the victory He has won!
