Part 5 Taken, Blessed, Broken and Given: The Baptism of Fire

God's Word is pure and sure,
in spite of the lies and deceptions of the devil,
in spite of your own lack of faith and fears,
in spite of all the worldly circumstances
that seem to fly in the face of the Truth.
God's Word is pure and sure.
“Let God be True and every man a liar.” fkj

Taken, Blessed, Broken and Given: The Baptism of Fire Part 5

It is only by this fiery process:

□ that we are conformed to Christ’s likeness
□ that His character is established and maintained in us
□ that we will become star witnesses for His kingdom

When we are lead by the Holy Spirit into our own wilderness experiences

□ we will discover what is in our hearts
□ what is in our hearts will be displayed for others to see

Job made this observation:

“He uncovers deep things out of darkness
and brings into light black gloom and the shadow of death.”
Job 12:22 Amp
“When His lamp shone above and upon my head and by His light
I walked through darkness;”

Job 29:3 Amp

God leads us into the fire of His presence
to refine and transform us:

“And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not;
I will lead them in paths that they have not known.
I will make darkness into light before them
and make uneven places into a plain.
These things I have determined to do [for them];
and I will not leave them forsaken."
Isaiah 42:16 Amp

“For He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap”
Malachi 3:2b Amp (my emphasis bold)

The Refiner’s Fire:

When a jeweler refines silver or gold they place the metal in the middle of the fire where it is hottest so that the impurities will be burned away.

Sometimes God needs to hold us in a hot spot to allow our impurities to be cleansed from us.

The jeweler must sit and watch the process attentively
Because too much heat has the potential to destroy the valuable metal.

When God has us in the refiner’s fire, He watches over us attentively!

The jeweler knows that the metal is pure when he can see his face reflected in the molten metal.

God knows when we are refined in His presence we will come out as a purer reflection (image) of Him and His love.

The Fuller’s Soap:

Fuller's soap is an ancient process
that was used to clean woolen cloth
before it was made into garments.

Fuller's soap has been used as a metaphor in the Bible
for the purifying ability of the Lord.

The New Testament's story of the transfiguration
refers to Christ's white garments as
whiter than any fuller could get them.

Contemporary Christian Song: “Refiner’s Fire

Purify my heart,
let me be as gold and precious silver.
Purify my heart,
let me be as gold, pure gold.
(Chorus)

Refiner's fire, my heart's one desire
is to be holy;
set apart for You, Lord.
I choose to be holy;
set apart for You, my Master,
ready to do Your will.

Purify my heart,
cleanse me from within
and make me holy.
Purify my heart,
cleanse me from my sin, deep within.

Refiner's fire,
my heart's one desire
is to be holy;
set apart for You, Lord.
I choose to be holy;
set apart for You, my Master,
ready to do Your will.
