Seven Things God Loves - Part 1 of 7

Seven things God Loves: Part 1

“Talk is cheap.
Backing up words with a life of obedience
is the true measure of a man or woman of God.”

Part 1 Being Presence Led

The Scriptures tells us
there are seven things that God hates, and finds detestable:
“There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:

1. haughty eyes,
2. a lying tongue,
3. hands that shed innocent blood,
4. a heart that devises wicked schemes,
5, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
6. a false witness who pours out lies
7. and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.”
Proverbs 6:16-19 NIV (my emphasis, 1-7 numeration)

On the positive side, here are seven things God loves:

1. A people who are Presence Led
2. Those who live in Settled Confidence
3. People who fulfill their call to His purposes in ministry
4. Those who walk together in freedom as children of God
5. Those who walk with God and each other in covenant
6. Those who respond to the mandate to change the world for Christ
7. Those who raise the next generation to live for the Lord.

The contrast between these two lists is striking.

In this thought for the Day, we will explore one of the things God loves:
is when His people are led by His presence.

When God announced to the Israelites that He would no longer go with them (but send an angel with them) because of their stiff-necked disobedience, Moses spoke quickly with great wisdom…

"The LORD replied,
My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.
Then Moses said to him,
If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.”
Exodus 33:14-15 NIV (my emphasis bold)

We would be wise today to have the very same attitude!
‘Lord don’t allow us to walk in our own earthly abilities,
but let us always seek your face;
that we might see what the Father is doing
and follow Your will.’

Here are a few things we will do when we are a presence led people:

1. We will honor the presence of God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
2. We will fear God alone (not men, circumstances or the enemy)

“And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you
but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways,
to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart
and with all your soul,”

(Deuteronomy 10:12 NIV)

3. We will keep our eyes focused on God, and His ability.
- recounting His faithfulness to us
- remembering the victories He has brought in our lives
4. Our hearts will ever be poised to honor God.
- we will boast of His goodness and mercy
5. We will seek His presence that we might know His voice.
- “My sheep know my voice” (John Chapter 10)
6. We will boldly follow God’s voice without hesitation
and walk in obedience.

“His affection abounds all the more toward you,
as he remembers the obedience of you all,
how you received him with fear and trembling.”

2 Corinthians 7:15

7. We will be sensitized to God’s heart, yielding to His leading.
8. We will be quick to inquire of God – to ask, seek and knock

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds;
and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8NIV

9. We will desire that God’s presence impacts every part of our lives.

Being presence led assures us that we will not enter into the things that God hates and detests, but that we will be fruitful for the advance of His kingdom here on earth, while experiencing His blessing.

“Thy will be done, Thy kingdom come, in earth as it is in heaven”

The word kingdom means “to perceive, to be aware of the King and His realm”.
His realm is the reality of the King.

His spiritual reality (His kingdom) is more real
than that which we experience in the natural world.

May we individually and corporately seek His presence that we might be conformed to His likeness.

“For those God foreknew he also predestined
to be conformed to the likeness of his Son,
that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.”
Romans 8:29 NIV

May His grace shine upon you and those you love…
From His presence
