Seven Things God Loves Part 4

Seven things God Loves:
Part 4 Walking as Children of God

“If you allow God the freedom to work in your life
the way He desires, you definitely can attain holiness
because it is God’s will that you do.”
Sergio Scataglini
The Fire of His Holiness Page 15

There are seven things God loves:
1. A people who are Presence Led

2. Those who live in Settled Confidence

3. People who fulfill their call to His purposes in ministry

4. Those who walk together in freedom as children of God

5. Those who walk with God and each other in covenant

6. Those who respond to the mandate to change the world for Christ

7. Those who raise the next generation to live for the Lord.

“The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope
that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”
Romans 8:19-21 NIV (My emphasis Bold)

1. We are sons and daughters of the Most High God!
Can you get your mind around that?
However difficult it may be to fully comprehend, that is what we are…
we are told so repeatedly in the Scripture:
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."
Matthew 5:9NASB
"AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS"
(Ref: Joel 2:28-32) Acts 2:17NASB
"For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."
Romans 8:14NASB
"For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God."
Romans 8:19NASB
"AND IT SHALL BE THAT IN THE PLACE WHERE IT WAS SAID TO THEM, 'YOU ARE NOT MY PEOPLE,' THERE THEY SHALL BE CALLED SONS OF THE LIVING GOD."
Romans 9:26NASB (Ref: Hosea 1:10)
"For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3:26NASB
"Because you are sons,
God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" .
Hebrews 4:6NASB
"For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings."
Hebrews 2:10NASB
"It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?"
Hebrews 12:7NASB

By redemptive Blood of Christ Jesus has made us heirs to His kingdom.

"It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.' "
Acts 3:25NASB
"For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified"
Romans 4:14NASB
"and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him."
Romans 8:17NASB
"And if you belong to Christ,
then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise."
Galatians 3:29NASB
"to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,"
Ephesians 3:6NASB
"so that being justified by His grace
we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Titus 3:7NASB
"In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise
the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,"
Hebrews 6:17NASB
"By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise;"
Hebrews 11:9NASB
"You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered."
1 Peter 3:7NASB

As such we have been liberated to walk in freedom.
We have been set free of sin that we might do His will,
not that we might walk in sin without fear of God!!
There can be a minute line between freedom in the Spirit and carnal sin.

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Romans 6:1-3,11 (My emphasis Bold)

2. We need to daily experience the Victory of Christ
over the sin and wiles of the enemy which so easily beset us.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles (beset), and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
Hebrews 12:1 NIV

3. We need to live our lives from a place of acceptance and peace
rather than constantly striving to “earn” our acceptance.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”
Ephesians 2:8 NIV (My emphasis Bold)

The enemy, our accuser wants us to see a God who is harsh, demanding,

never satisfied with our performance,

as One who is disappointed with you and your spiritual growth.

Nothing is deadlier to our spiritual life
than this view of the Almighty.
How we view God is vitally important
to our success in living the Christian walk.

Because we have set our affections on Christ, who loved us so much that He died for us,
the Father looks upon us through His finished work.

We are accepted in Christ and seen as His sons and daughters.

His love for us is based on what Christ did out of love, not what we have done.

He doesn’t enjoy us any less because we at times struggle or fall short.
Indeed, when we pick ourselves up and turn back to His loving arms
He openly embraces us in His Love and Mercy.

He enjoys us at each level of our maturational growth as sons and daughters,
as we become more and more like His Son.

4. We need to live free from false humility and religiosity
(performance mentality) and every lifeless form of godliness that denies God’s power.

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Have nothing to do with them."

2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV (My emphasis bold)

5. We need to enjoy the atmosphere of heaven on earth
free to discover our God given identity-
a calling without fear of failure and rejection.

6. We need to be transparent before God and men
free to be vulnerable and teachable.
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"
Psalm 133:1NASB
